Alexander Ovechkin has first training with Russian National Team
Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin participated today for the first time in on-ice training with the Russian National team, which has completed preparations for the World Championship which starts on May 2.
Ovechkin wore a white jersey on the ice in the Colisee Arena in Quebec city, as did his teammates Sergei Fedorov and Alexander Semin. A pair of defenders, Korneev and Grebeshkov, practiced with them.
Before the one-and-a-half hour on-ice practice, the players worked out in the gym, and before the evening exercises (where they played basketball and handball), the entire Russian delegation underwent accreditation.
