The Russian Hockey Federation has paid Ovechkin's insurance, but the money has yet to arrive
Russian Hockey Federation president Vladislav Tretiak has confirmed that all formalities concerning the insuring of Alexander Ovechkin have basically been settled.
The RHF today paid the required amount for the insurance payment on the Washington Capitals forward and Ovechkin can now join the Russian national team in the World Championships in Canada, according to the official RHF website, fhr.ru.
However, according to Natalya Clark, special correspondent to tv station "Sport" in Canada, the funds have not yet made it to the transatlantic insurance company, and once again the attacker for the Capitals did not participate in the morning skate of the national team.
